THE ACTIVITIES OF THE THINK TANK WILL BE FOCUSED ON THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:
Where is the Digital Revolution leading us to?
How do you contribute to building a fairer and more inclusive Digital Society?
How to clean the Web and avoid injustice, data breaches and "Algocracy"?
How to implement e-services for a WebFare for all?
Is a "Weblateralism" possible?
If you think you have the answers to these questions you should participate to the activities of the
INFOPOVERTY THINK TANK
The crucial focus that will be the groundwork of the Report and the THINK TANK:
Positive trends (global connectivity, globalization, information) and risks that could jeopardise the process (hegemony, misinformation, marginalisation) have been recognised;
We are in a phase of creation of a new virtual world, with new languages and behaviours where anybody can explain their point of view, shaping a collective expectation. This virtual dimension, exacerbated by Covid, overlaps the real world provoking changes and giving origin to new forms of Society;
The guiding-light of this uncertain process will be the United Nation SDGs, in terms of the advancement of values such as inclusiveness, justice, balance, and the respect of human rights. These are fundamental assumptions for a fairer Digital Society.
The digital capacity to ensure full connectivity to everybody, able to nullify distance and time, unifying languages and behaviours is building a new Society, based on virtual territories, with new paradigms, global rules, and convergent governance and guidance, also increasing the risks to freedom and privacy. In order to guarantee free circulation, transparency, affordability for platforms, algorithms, and hubs, the priority is to clean the web, affirming the principle “nobody must be left behind’’.
