24th Infopoverty World Conference

The 24th edition of the IWC was held successfully on April 11, 2025, at the UNHQ in New York, and online on UN Webcast, gathering together more than 50 speakers and 100 participants.

22nd Infopoverty World Conference

December 1, 2022

The 22nd edition of the IWC was held successfully on December 1, 2022 at the UNHQ in New York, and online on UN Webcast, in connection with OCCAM HQ in Milan and other 30 places all around the world.

25th Commission on Science and Technology for Development

From 28 to 31, 2022 OCCAM participated and intervened at the 25th Commission on Science and Technology for Development at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.

In this session held by the Third Committee on Social, Humanitarian & Cultural Issues, OCCAM - The Observatory on Digital Communication discussed the current and future challenges concerning rural villages in Africa and Latin America.

The Infopoverty World Conference

OCCAM is the lead organizer of the Infopoverty World Conference with the United Nations Global Alliance for ICT and Development, the European Parliament and other international organizations.​The annual Conference results in the approval of the Final Declaration that was submitted to the Annual Substantive Session on the ECOSOC

Community of Expertise "e-services for development"

Creation of this community on mandate of the Global Alliance. It was formally commended in 2008 by external audit.

UN Public Private Partnership for Rural Development

It supports the activities in two pilot Countries, Madagascar and the Dominican Republic.

During the Substantive Session E/2007/61, OCCAM discussed the creation of the first Malagasy ICT Village in the community of Sambaina, nominated as the first African Millennium Village.

International Telecommunication Union - ITU

2005, Signature of a Letter of Intent together with the Navajo Nation for the creation of a Portal for Indigenous People.

Connect Africa Summit 

29 - 30 October, 2007

On this occasion, Pierpaolo Saporito, the President of OCCAM delivered a speech.

Participation Programme of UNESCO

In 2008 was submitted a project within this programme which resulted in the approval of a grant of 13,000 US$ for the implementation of the ICT Village model in Sambaina.
